Itinerary
The following outline details the itinerary for this excursion, designed to offer a relaxed and unhurried journey. Times are approximate and may vary depending on the group’s pace.
- 4:30 – 5:00 – Pick-up from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco and boarding of our tourist transport.
- 5:00 – Departure for the southern part of the region, traversing beautiful landscapes along the Vilcanota River.
- 7:00 – Strategic stop in the district of Cusipata or Combapata to enjoy a nutritious local Andean breakfast.
- 8:00 – Continuation of the journey by vehicle along a well-maintained road that gradually ascends, offering spectacular views of canyons and high Andean slopes.
- 9:00 – Arrival at the starting point of the hike. From here, you can already appreciate the first colorful mountain formations.
- 9:15 AM – Start of the gradual ascent hike. The hike takes approximately 45 minutes at a leisurely pace along a mostly flat trail.
- 10:00 AM – Arrival at the main viewpoints of Palcoyo. Free time to take photos of the three rainbow mountains, receive an explanation from the guide, and take an optional short hike to the impressive stone forest.
- 11:30 AM – Start of the return hike to the parking area, a much faster and easier downhill walk.
- 12:15 PM – Boarding of the tourist transport to descend into the valley.
- 1:30 PM – Buffet lunch or typical Andean cuisine at our local restaurant to replenish your energy.
- 2:30 PM – We begin the return trip to the city.
- 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Arrival in Cusco, ending the tour in a central plaza or a few blocks from your accommodation.
